Public Accounts Committee
of State Legislative Assembly Standing Orders
(1)
There shall be sessional Select Committee to be known as the Public Accounts
Committee as required by law*.
(2)
The Committee shall consist of a Chairman to be appointed by the Speaker, and not more than seven Members to be appointed by Standing Committee as soon as may be after its appointment, in such manner as shall ensure that, so far as is possible, the balance between the Government benches and the Opposition benches in the Assembly is reflected in the Committee.
(3)
It shall be the duty of the Committee to examine the accounts in accordance with the law†, together with the Auditors’ report thereon.
(4)
The Committee shall have power to send for persons, papers and records.
