Persons who are deemed to be licensees
of Abattoirs (Privatization) Act 1993
(1)
Any person who has entered into an agreement, lease or tenancy with the Government of Malaysia in respect of the operation of any abattoir, which agreement, lease or tenancy is in force at the date of commencement of this Act, shall be deemed to be a licensee under this Act.
(2)
The Minister shall, within sixty days of the coming into force of this
Act, issue to the licensee under subsection (1) a licence which shall—
(a)
be valid for a period not less than the period remaining under the agreement, lease or tenancy; and
(b)
contain terms and conditions no less favourable than that provided in the agreement, lease or tenancy, entered into between the parties.
