Supply of water for fire-fighting

Section 42

(1)

A water distribution licensee shall allow the Fire Services

Department or any other person authorized by the Commission or under any written law to take water for extinguishing fires from any of its water mains or other pipes on which a fire hydrant is fixed.

(2)

The cost for utilizing the water from the fire hydrant shall be borne by the water distribution licensee.

(3)

Any water distribution licensee who contravenes subsection

(1)

commits an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding two hundred thousand ringgit.

(4)

In this section, “Fire Services Department” shall have the same meaning as in the Fire Services Act 1988 [Act 341].
