Power to require developer to connect development to public sewerage system
of Water Services Industry Act 2006
(1)
The Commission may direct the developer of any development not connected to a public sewerage system, to construct or install for the development, within the period specified in the direction, a connection pipe of such material or size and at such level as to enable the development to be properly and effectively connected to any public sewer or public sewerage system.
(2)
If the developer to whom a direction under subsection (1)
has been issued fails to comply with the direction within the period specified in the direction, the Commission or any person authorized by the Commission may construct or install the connection pipe or cause the pipe to be constructed or installed and recover the expenses incurred in the construction and installation of such pipes from the developer.
