Section 26
(1)
On the day and at the place notified under section 24 of this Enactment, the
District Officer or the President shall cause the treasure trove to be produced before him and shall enquire as to and determine ―
(a)
whether any object or article is treasure trove;
(b)
the person by whom, the place in which, and the circumstances under which, such treasure trove was discovered; and
(c)
as far as possible, the person by whom, and the circumstances under

which such treasure trove was hidden.
(2)
The District Officer or the President may adjourn the hearing at any stage for any period and shall record his reasons for such adjournment.
Time to be allowed for suit for claimant.
