Section 26
(1)
An authorized officer making an arrest under this Act or any applicable written law shall without unnecessary delay produce the person arrested before a Magistrate.
(2)
No authorized officer shall keep in custody a person arrested for a longer period than under all the circumstances of the case is reasonable.
(3)
Such period shall not in the absence or after the expiry of a special order of a Magistrate under section 117 of the Criminal
Procedure Code [Act 593] exceed twenty-four hours, exclusive of the time necessary for the journey from the place of arrest to the
Magistrate’s Court.
