Prohibition of the use of the word “Farmers’ Organization”
of Farmers' Organization Act 1973
No person, organization, society or association other than a
Farmers’ Organization registered under this Act shall trade or carry
Farmers’ Organization 27
on business under any name or title of which the word “Farmers’
Organization” is part without the sanction of the Minister:
Provided that nothing in this section shall apply to the use by any person, organization, society or association or his or its successor in interest of any name or title under which trade or business has been carried on at the commencement of this Act.
(2)
Any person who contravenes the provisions of this section shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable to a fine not exceeding five hundred ringgit, and, in the case of a continuing offence, to a further fine of fifty ringgit for each day during which the offence continues.
