Section 25

of Korporasi Pembangunan Desa Sabah Enactment 1981

Section 25

The functions of the Corporation shall be—

(a)

to undertake agricultural projects with emphasis on in-situ development of the rural communities;

(b)

to create employment and other gainful economic opportunities for the rural communities;

(c)

to establish commercial model farms either wholly owned or leased from or managed on joint venture basis with small holders;

(d)

to acquire land for opening up rubber, oil palm, cocoa and other plantations and for the promotion of viable agricultural undertakings;

(e)

to undertake the processing and marketing, including import and export of all agricultural and forest produce;

(f)

to undertake the operation of farm mechanisation, and transport services, and the provision of credit facilities;

(g)

to undertake and participate in industrial, commercial, trading and agricultural enterprise in or outside the State;

(h)

to establish a joint marketing agency to undertake the marketing, including export and import of all agricultural produce from all Government and/or semi-Government and/or Government-financed agricultural agencies;

(i)

to promote rural community social programme, such as on nutrition, health, population, environment, housing, pre-school and adult education; and

(j)

to do all other acts and things as are necessary and expedient for the attainment of the purposes of the Corporation.
