Section 16

The Superintendent, any police officer or any other officer authorized in writing in that behalf by the Superintendent may without warrant enter any premises upon which any prescribed trading activity is being carried out with a view to ascertaining whether the provisions of this Ordinance or the conditions of any licence granted under this

Ordinance are being complied with, and may make such investigation and inspection of the premises and call any person to produce such articles, books, accounts or other documents or things and to furnish any information as the Superintendent or such officer may consider necessary for the purpose:

Provided that any person not in uniform purporting to exercise any powers under this section shall on demand produce his written authority to the owner or occupier of premises demanding the same.
