Section 98

(2)

The Registrar shall not cause any panning licence, prospecting licence, proprietary mining licence, mining lease or certificate to be prepared, unless—

(a)

in the case of a panning licence and proprietary mining licence, the prescribed fees have been paid;

(b)

in the case of a prospecting licence, the prescribed fees and the first year’s licence fee have been paid; and

(c)

in the case of a mining lease or certificate—

(i)

the prescribed fees and the first year’s rent have been paid; and

(ii)

in the case of mining land which has been surveyed, and the survey fees, and if the survey was carried out by land surveyor, his fees, have been paid.
