Section 30

Specific offences

(a)

carries out or causes or permits to be carried out open burning of refuse or other combustible materials on any land; or

(b)

uses or causes or permits to be used, any land for the deposit of refuse, without written permission of the Controller shall be guilty of an offence: Penalty, a fine of one hundred thousand ringgit or imprisonment for five years or to both and, in the case of a continuing offence, shall be punished with a further fine of not exceeding one thousand ringgit in respect of every day during which the offence continues.

(2)

Any person who, without the written permission of the

Controller, cuts, destroys or burns vegetation in any area shall be guilty of an offence and shall, upon conviction, be punished with a fine of not exceeding one hundred thousand ringgit or imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or to both.
