Investigation into infectious disease
of Protection of Public Health Ordinance, 1999

The Director or any person authorized under section 10(1), may conduct investigation into any infectious disease to identify the cause of the outbreak thereof or the precise nature of the disease, and submit a report or finding of such investigation to the
Minister.
(2)
In investigating an infectious disease the Director or any authorized person may by notice in writing require—
(a)
any person to furnish him as soon as practicable with such information as he may require for the purpose of the investigation; and
(b)
any person to submit himself to such medical examination as he thinks fit.
(3)
Any person who fails without reasonable cause or excuse to furnish any information or to submit to any medical examination required under subsection (2) shall be guilty of an offence: Penalty, a fine not exceeding three thousand ringgit.
