Duty of developer to convene first annual general meeting of joint management body
of Strata Management Ordinance, 2019

It shall be the duty of the developer to convene the first annual general meeting of the joint management body within the period specified in section 16(1) in accordance with the Second
Schedule.
(2)
Any developer who fails to comply with subsection (1)
shall be guilty of an offence and shall, upon conviction, be punished with a fine not exceeding two hundred and fifty thousand ringgit or imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years or both and, in the case of a continuing offence, to a further fine not exceeding one thousand ringgit for every day or part thereof during which the offence continues after conviction.

(3)
If the developer fails to convene the first annual general meeting of the joint management body within the period specified in section 16(1), the Commissioner may appoint any person to convene the first annual general meeting of the joint management body within such time as may be specified by the Commissioner, and the developer shall bear all the expenses incurred for the purpose relating to the appointment of such person and the convening of the first annual general meeting.
