Section 44
The principal Act is amended by inserting after section 35
the following section:
“Power of investigation 35a. (1) An authorized officer or a police officer not below the rank of Inspector shall have all the powers necessary to carry out an investigation of the commission of any offence under this Act.
(2)
In any case relating to the commission of an offence under this Act, any authorized officer or a police officer not below the rank of Inspector carrying out an investigation may exercise all or any of the special powers in relation to police investigation in seizable cases given by the Criminal
Procedure Code [Act 593].”.
