Declaration of holidays
(2)
The Bank shall not do any business with the public on any day declared as holiday for the Bank under the provisions of subsection (1).
(3)
A day declared as holiday under subsection (1) shall not necessarily be a public holiday and nothing in this section shall affect the provisions of any written law relating to public holidays.
(4)
Any reference to a holiday for the Bank, in any written law shall include—
(a)
any day declared to be a holiday under subsection (1);
and
(b)
any day which is a public holiday within the meaning of any written law relating to public holidays.
(5)
Where the Bank fails to comply with subsection (1), it shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding one million ringgit.
(6)
Where the Bank is guilty of an offence under subsection (5), any person who at the time of the commission of the offence was a person responsible for the Bank shall also be guilty of that offence and shall on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding one million ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to both.
