Section 49
⎯(1) The Controller or any officer authorized by the him by notification in the Gazette (“referred to as an “authorized officer”), may, with the consent in writing of the Public Prosecutor or any person appointed by him under section 376(3) of the Criminal Procedure Code [Act 593], accept from any person who has committed an offence under this Ordinance or the rules made under section 57, a sum not exceeding one half of the maximum amount of the fine provided for the offence has been committed.
(2)
All sums of money received under this section shall be credited to the State Consolidated Fund.
(3)
Any power vested in an authorized officer by notification under subsection (1) may, at any time, be withdrawn by the Controller, by notification in the Gazette.
