Section 6
(1)
The Director General shall prepare and keep under continual review fisheries plans based on the best scientific information available and designed to ensure optimum utilization of fishery resources, consistent with sound conservation and management principles and with the avoidance of overfishing, and in accordance with the overall national policies, development plans and programmes.
(2)
Each plan and each modification or revision thereof shall be implemented after approval by the Minister.
(3)
All development within the fisheries industry shall conform generally with the management and conservation policies described in the fisheries plans.
