Section 45
(1)
An application for an extension of prospecting licence for prospecting for minerals occurring in hard rock deposits shall be made by the holder of a prospecting licence to the Minister in the prescribed form.
(2)
The Minister or any officer authorised in writing by him may, on receipt of an application under subsection (1), grant a prospecting licence with hard rock extension subject to such terms and conditions as may be specified in the extension or as may be prescribed.

(3)
A prospecting licence with hard rock extension may be granted for a term not exceeding ten years beginning from the date of the original issuance of the prospecting licence.
