(1)
Subject to subsections (2) and (3), the area of –
(a)
a prospecting licence granted under this Enactment shall not exceed four hundred hectares; and
(b)
an exploration licence granted under this Enactment shall exceed four hundred hectares but shall not exceed twenty thousand hectares.
(2)
Any number of prospecting licences may be granted to any person:
Provided that no person shall be granted under multiple licences a contiguous area exceeding eight hundred hectares.
(3)
Any number of exploration licences may be granted to any person:
Provided that no person shall be granted under multiple licences a contiguous area exceeding forty thousand hectares.
