Section 17

⎯(1) A Native Court may order that any penalty or compensation payable in cash or kind which it shall impose, shall be paid at such time and by such instalments as it shall think just, and, in default of the payment of any such penalty or compensation or of any instalment when due, the Court may order that the amount of such penalty or compensation or of such instalment as the case may be, shall be levied by the sale of any property belonging to the person who is penalised or ordered to pay compensation.

(2)

Proceedings for the sale of any property pursuant to any order made under subsection (1) shall be regulated by rules made under section 29.
