Section 19

of Native Courts Ordinance, 1992 ( Ord. No. 9/92 )

Section 19

A Native Court may⎯

(a)

award compensation (which may include an amount for costs and expenses incurred by a successful party or his witness);

(b)

direct that any penalty payable in cash or kind, or such part thereof as it shall deem fit, shall be paid to the person injured or aggrieved by the act or omission in respect of which such penalty has been imposed;

(c)

order the restitution of any property;

(d)

order the specific performance of any contract; or

(e)

make any other order (including an order of forfeiture)

which the justice of the case may require:

Provided that no order of forfeiture shall take effect unless and until it has been endorsed by a Magistrate.
