⎯(1)
Subject to this Ordinance, a Native Court shall administer and enforce only⎯
(a)
the native law and custom prevailing in the area of the jurisdiction of the court, so far as it is applicable and is not repugnant to natural justice or morality or is not, in principle, in conflict with the provisions of any law in force in the State; and
(b)
any written law which the court may be authorised to administer or enforce.

(2)
The Yang di-Pertua Negeri may, by order in the Gazette, confer jurisdiction or powers upon any Native Court to administer or enforce any specified written law, subject to any restrictions or limitations that may be imposed by such order.
