Persons entitled to be registered as optometrists

Section 19

(1)

Any person is entitled to be registered as an optometrist if he satisfies the Council that he is not less than eighteen years of age, is a fit and proper person to be registered as an optometrist and holds any of the qualifications specified in the Second Schedule.

(2)

The Council may authorize the registration of any person as an optometrist if he satisfies the Council that he is not less than eighteen years of age, is a fit and proper person to be registered as an optometrist and holds a qualification which is not specified in the Second Schedule but is deemed suitable by the Minister, after consulting the Council, for purposes of registration.
