Section 17
Register
The Registrar shall cause the following Registers to be kept in the prescribed form:
(a)
a Register of opticians;
(b)
a Register of optometrists.
(2)
Without prejudice to subsection (1), the Registers may contain such particulars as may be determined by the Council.
(3)
The Registrar shall be responsible for the maintenance and custody of the Registers in accordance with the provisions of this Act and the regulations made under this Act.
(4)
The Registers shall be deemed to be public documents within the meaning of the Evidence Act 1950 [Act 56].
(5)
A certificate under the hand of the Registrar that any person—
(a)
is or is not registered under this Act; or
(b)
was or was not at any time registered under this Act, shall be conclusive evidence of the matters referred to therein.
