Section 1

(1)

This Act may be cited as the Mental Health Act 2001.

(2)

This Act comes into operation on such date as the Minister may appoint by notification in the Gazette, and the Minister may appoint different dates for the coming into operation of this Act, or of different provisions of this Act, in different parts of Malaysia.
