Section 9
Section 12 of the principal Act is amended—
of Medical (Amendment) Act 2012
(a)
in subsection (1)—
(i)
in subparagaraph (a)(i), by inserting after the words
“of that Schedule” the words “ for a duration of recognition that shall be determined by the
Council ”;

(ii)
by deleting the word “and” at the end of paragraph (aa)
and inserting after that paragraph the following paragraph:
“(aaa) he is a citizen or spouse of a citizen or a permanent resident;”; and
(iii)
by substituting for the full stop at the end of paragraph (b) the word “; and” and inserting after that paragraph the following paragraph:
“(c) he has proven to the satisfaction of the
Council that he is fit and is of good character;” and
(b)
by inserting after subsection (2) the following subsection:
“(3) An application for provisional registration as a medical practitioner shall be made to the Registrar in the specified form and manner and be accompanied by the documents and particulars and payment of a fee as may be determined by the Council.”.
