(a)
the application has not been opposed and the period for opposition has expired; or
(b)
the application has been opposed and the opposition has been decided in favour of the applicant, the Registrar shall, unless the application has been accepted in error, register the geographical indication in the Register in the name of the applicant.

(2)
For the purposes of subsection (1), the geographical indication shall be registered as at the date of filing of the application for registration of the geographical indication and the date shall be deemed for the purposes of this Act to be the date of registration.
(3)
Upon the registration of the geographical indication, the Registrar shall issue a certificate of registration of the geographical indication with the seal of the Registrar to the registered proprietor.
