Composition of the Board
(a)
a Chairman;
(b)
a Deputy Chairman;
(c)
a Secretary;
(d)
a Treasurer; and
(e)
not less than five and not more than seven other members who are qualified person.
(2)
The members appointed under subsection (1) shall hold office for three years or for such other shorter period as the Minister may specify and shall be eligible for reappointment.
(3)
Notwithstanding subsection (2), members appointed under subsection (1) shall cease to hold office and be deemed to have their appointment terminated if:
(a)
he has been convicted of any offence involving fraud, dishonesty or moral turpitude, or of any other offence implying defect in character which makes him unfit for the profession;
(b)
he has been adjudged a bankrupt by a court of competent jurisdiction;
(c)
he is of unsound mind or is otherwise incapable of performing his duties or is incapacitated by physical illness;
(d)
he absents himself from three consecutive meetings of the Board without the prior written consent of the Chairman; or
(e)
he resigns as a member of the Board.
(4)
On a vacancy occurring in the Board, the Chairman shall notify the Minister who may fill such vacancy.
(5)
The powers of the Board shall not be affected by any vacancy in its membership.
(6)
The member of the Board may be paid such remuneration and allowances as may be determined by the Majlis Mesyuarat
Kerajaan Negeri.
(7)
No act done by or under the authority of the Board shall be invalidated in consequence of any defect that is subsequently discovered in the appointment, election or qualification of the members or any of them.
