Section 24
(1)
The amount of compensation, if any, payable under section 19 or 21
shall be assessed by the Collector after such enquiry as he deems sufficient and the assessment shall be in the form set out in the Third Schedule.
(2)
No compensation shall be payable by the licensee in respect of any tree within fifty feet of the center line of any road constructed or maintained by the Government or by any local authority unless it is proved that the tree was in existence prior to the construction of the road.
(3)
Any person aggrieved with the Collector’s assessment may within twenty-one days after the assessment appeal to the Director whose decision shall be final.
