Single Buyer
of Electricity Supply Enactment 2024
The Minister may, upon the recommendation of the Commission, authorize or revoke the authorization of any person or a unit, department or division forming part of a licensee to be a Single Buyer by order published in the Gazette.

The Single Buyer shall comply with any regulations, codes, guidelines or directions with regards to its functions as may be made or issued by the
Minister or the Commission, as the case may be, under this Enactment.

(3)
A Single Buyer, pursuant to discharging its functions under this
Enactment, shall ensure non-discriminatory conduct and optimal and economical operation of such power system to the extent that it does not compromise the reliability, security and safety of the power system.
(4)
The Commission may, from time to time, issue codes, guidelines or directions to ring fence the Single Buyer from activities under the licence of the licensee which are not related to its function as a Single Buyer.
