Section 22

(1)

If a patient found by a Health Officer or registered medical practitioner to be suffering from a notifiable disease gives to such Health Officer information as to a person

from whom the patient suspects that disease was contracted, such information shall be deemed, for the purposes of the law relating to defamation to have been communicated in pursuance of a statutory duty.

(2)

If, in furnishing any information as is mentioned in the preceding subsection, any person makes any statement which he knows to be false in a material particular, or recklessly makes any statement which is false in a material particular, he shall be guilty of an offence.
