Section 23

The Health Officer may at any time enter and inspect any premises in which he has reason to believe that any person suffering, or who has recently suffered, from a notifiable disease is or has recently been present, or any inmate of which has recently been exposed to infection by a notifiable disease, and may medically examine any person in such premises for the purpose of ascertaining whether the person is suffering or has recently suffered from or is a carrier of any such disease, and may cause a post-mortem examination to be made on any corpse for the purpose of ascertaining if the cause of death has been a notifiable disease:

Provided that no person shall, unless with the permission of the occupier, enter any house by virtue of this section without four hours’ notice being given to the occupier, if any.
