Section 43

of SARAWAK TIMBER INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION ORDINANCE, 1973 ( Ord. No. 3/73 )

Section 43

―(1)

Where it is required in this Ordinance or the

Regulations made thereunder for the General Manager or any authorized officer authorized by him to make an assessment or to quantify the value of any timber and timber products or other property or other payments, the General Manager or such authorized officer shall issue a certificate stating―

(a)

the value of such timber and timber products or other property;

(b)

the amount of fees or other payments in respect of any timber and timber products; or

(c)

the amount of compensation for any damage caused by an offender, as the case maybe.

(2)

In any proceedings under this Ordinance, a certificate signed by the General Manager or any authorized officer under subsection (1) shall be admissible in evidence as to its authenticity and contents, including the facts stated therein, without proof of the signature to such certificate.

(3)

The provision of this section shall apply notwithstanding any other written law to the contrary.
