Section 12
(1)
No livestock intended to be used as public consumption shall be slaughtered at any place other than at a licensed slaughterhouse or at a Government slaughterhouse.
(2)
A slaughter fee payable by the owner of livestock slaughtered at a gazetted
Government slaughterhouse or a licensed slaughterhouse under these Rules shall be prescribed and declared by the Director by notification in the Gazette.
(3)
The licensee of a slaughterhouse shall ensure that no slaughter of any livestock is carried out unless an inspector assigned by the Director for this purpose is present;
wherever it is not applicable, the Director may impose such conditions as he deems fit.
