Alienated land in a water catchment area

(1)
Whenever any alienated land situate within the limits of a water catchment area is required for any purpose connected with the waterworks, including the protection of the waterworks from contamination or the conservation of water resources, such purpose shall be deemed to be a public purpose within the meaning of section 46 of the Land Code [Cap. 81 (1958 Ed.)], and the Government may acquire the said land under Part IV of the Land Code [Cap. 81 (1958
Ed.)] and alienate the same to a water supply authority.

(2)
If the Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan Negeri is satisfied that any unalienated land within a water catchment area is required by a water supply authority for the protection of the waterworks from contamination or for the conservation of water resources, the Majlis
Mesyuarat Kerajaan Negeri may order such land to be alienated to the water supply authority: Provided that such alienation shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Land Code [Cap.
(1958 Ed.)].
