(2)

An investigating officer carrying out an investigation under this

Act may enter any place or building and may inspect, make copies of, take extracts from, remove and detain any book, minute book, register, document, material or article, whether in the physical form or in the electronic medium.

(3)

An investigating officer may by notice in writing require any person to produce to him such books, minute books, registers, documents, materials or articles, whether in the physical form or in the electronic medium. as are in the possession or custody of or under the control of that person or within the power of that person to furnish.

(4)

A person who—

(a)

fails to produce any book, minute book, register, document, material or article, whether in the physical form or in the electronic medium as is required by an investigating officer; or

(b)

obstructs or hinders an investigating officer while exercising any of his powers under this section, shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding one hundred thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to both.

An investigating officer may grant permission to any person to inspect the books, minute books, registers, documents, materials or articles, whether in the physical form or in the electronic medium detained and taken possession of by the investigating officer under subsection (2) if such person is entitled to inspect such books, minute books, registers, documents, materials or articles, whether in the physical form or in the electronic medium under this Act.

(6)

This section shall not be construed as limiting or affecting any similar powers conferred on any person under any other written law.
