In this Part, “investigating officer” means—

(a)
the Registrar General, Deputy Registrar General,
Registrar, Deputy Registrar and Assistant Registrar;

(b)
a police officer not below the rank of an Inspector; and
(c)
any other public officer authorized in writing by the
Registrar General to perform such duties relating to enforcement and investigation under this Part as may be specified in the authorization.
