The Essential (Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations 1969 [P.U. (A) 234/1969] is repealed.
(2)
Notwithstanding subsection (1), all private higher educational institutions—
(a)
established under the Essential (Higher Educational
Institutions) Regulations 1969; or
(b)
registered or deemed to have been registered under the
Education Act 1996, shall, on the date of coming into force of this Act, be deemed to have been approved, established and registered under this Act.
(3)
The conditions imposed on the private higher educational institutions referred to in paragraphs (2)(a) and (b), prior to the coming into force of this Act, shall continue to remain in force until varied or revoked by the Minister.
(4)
The provisions of this Act shall apply to such private higher educational institution as if such private higher educational institution was approved, established and registered under this Act.
