Rules for reckoning service

Section 34
(1)
In reckoning the service of any person for discharge or reengagement or transfer to the reserve, there shall be excluded therefrom—
(a)
all periods during which he has been absent from his duty from any of the following causes:
(i)
imprisonment;
(ii)
desertion; and
(b)
any period ordered by a court-martial to be forfeited.
(2)
Regulations under this Part may make provision for restoring service excluded by subsection (1) in consideration of good service or on other grounds justifying the restoration of service so excluded.
