Section 43
(1)
Any licence granted under this Act in contravention of the provisions of this Act relating to the granting of licences, shall be deemed to be void but it shall be a defence for a person charged with committing an act without a licence authorizing him to do so, to produce a void licence purporting to authorize him to commit the act unless he committed the act knowing that the licence was void.
(2)
For the purposes of this section, where pursuant to subsection (1) a void licence is produced as a defence to a charge, "void licence" means a licence which (if it were not void) is unexpired.
