Every service pipe or distributing pipe of copper to be connected by means of capillary fittings or compression fittings shall comply in all respects with B.S.S. 659: 1955

for light gauge copper tubes, and, if such pipe is to be laid underground, to B.S.S. 1386:

1957 for copper tubes to be buried underground, and all such fittings shall comply with

B.S.S. 864: 1953 for capillary fittings of copper or copper alloy for use with light gauge copper tube.
