Hedges and trees bordering streets to be trimmed

Section 19

(1)
The local authority may by notice in writing require the owner or occupier of any land to trim or prune the hedges thereon bordering any street so that they do not exceed two metres in height from the level of the street, and, in the case of hedges within 14
metres of a corner, one metre in height from the level of the street, and to cut and trim all trees or branches of trees overhanging any street.
(2)
If the owner or occupier fails to comply with the notice within the period specified therein, the local authority may itself cause the work to be done and recover the cost and expenses thereof in the manner hereinafter provided.
