Formation of Consultative Committee
(2)
The Consultative Committee may submit reports or recommendations to the Minister on the management and conservation of the fish and fisheries resources, habitat and environment in the fisheries sanctuary or prohibited fishing zone or the riverine waters where fishing is restricted, and propose measures to be taken to realise the purposes or objectives for which the fisheries sanctuary or prohibited fishing zone is constituted or the imposition of restriction on riverine fishing.

The Consultative Committee shall consist of—
(a)
the Resident for the Division (or in his absence, his representative) where the fisheries sanctuary or prohibited fishing zone or riverine waters where fishing is restricted, is located;
(b)
a representative of the State Fisheries Officer;
(c)
representatives of the local communities residing in the vicinity of the fisheries sanctuary, and dependent upon fishing therein as a source of food; and
(d)
persons who would be undertaking scientific research or studies on fish in the fisheries sanctuary.

(a)
The Resident, or in his absence, his representative, shall preside over all meetings of the Consultative Committee.
(b)
The representative of the State Fisheries Officer shall act as secretary of the Consultative Committee. He shall record and keep all minutes of meetings thereof.
(c)
Meetings of the Consultative Committee may be called by the Resident, and, any three members, including the Resident or his representative, shall constitute a quorum for a meeting.
