Section 20
(1)
The Director General, an appointed officer or assigned solicitor may provide legal aid in civil and syariah proceedings in relation to any of the proceedings specified in the Second
Schedule.
(2)
Notwithstanding subsection (1) and sections 25 and 26, where the Minister is satisfied that in any particular case of hardship it is in the interests of justice to do so, the Minister may authorize the Director General to provide legal aid in any civil and syariah proceedings other than the proceedings specified in the Second Schedule.
