Transfer of registration of registered geographical indication
of Geographical Indications Act 2022
A registered proprietor may file an application for the transfer of the registration of a geographical indication to another person in the form as determined by the Registrar together with payment of the prescribed fee.
(2)
The registration of a geographical indication shall not be transferred to another person unless the person—
(a)
is entitled to file an application for the registration of the geographical indication under subsection 8(1); and
(b)
gives consent in writing for the registration of the geographical indication to be transferred to him.
(3)
Upon receipt of the application for the transfer of the registration of the geographical indication from the registered proprietor together with payment of the prescribed fee under subsection (1)
and the requirements under subsection (2) are complied with, the Registrar shall register the transfer of registration of the geographical indication.
