Preliminary procedure in circumstances described in paragraph 166(1)(a) or (e)
of National Land Code (Revised - 2020)
Where the Registrar or Land Administrator proposes to issue title in continuation in the circumstances described in paragraph 166(1)(a) or (e), and the issue document of title to the land is not at the time in his hands, he shall—
(a)
call for its production as mentioned in paragraph (c) of that subsection; and
(b)
if it is not produced, take the further steps required by section 168 for cases falling within the said paragraph (c).

In its application to the Federal Territory of Putrajaya, insert after section 166 the following section:
“Continuation of titles for Federal Territory of Putrajaya 166a. All titles in respect of land situated in the Federal Territory of Putrajaya that had been registered by the relevant authorities, whether in the form of Land Office Titles or Registry
Titles before the establishment of the Federal
Territory of Putrajaya on 1 February 2001 shall be converted to Registry Titles registered in a
Registry in the Federal Territory of Putrajaya with effect from that date and titles in continuation may be issued accordingly.”.
