Section 15
New section 42a
of Road Transport (Amendment) Act 2026
The principal Act is amended by inserting after section 42
the following section:
“Racing or speed trial 42a. (1) Any person who races on a road involving two or more motor vehicles shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be liable to a fine of not less than two thousand ringgit and not more than ten thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or to both and, in the case of a second or subsequent conviction, to a fine of not less than five thousand ringgit and not more than twenty thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or to both.
(2)
Any person who takes part in speed trial on a road involving one or more motor vehicles shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be liable to a fine of not less than two thousand ringgit and not more than ten thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or to both and, in the case of a second or subsequent conviction, to a fine of not less than five thousand ringgit and not more than twenty thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or to both.”.
