New section 110b
of Road Transport (Amendment) Act 2026
The principal Act is amended by inserting after the deleted section 110a the following section:

“Obstruction, assault etc.
(1)
Any person who—
(a)
obstructs, harasses, assaults, threatens, provokes, utters abusive words, injures, harms or molests any police officer or road transport officer in the performance of any duty imposed or powers conferred by this Act;
(b)
is tailing a motor vehicle of a police officer or road transport officer in the performance of any duty imposed or powers conferred by this Act; or
(c)
disseminates information on any activity of a police officer or road transport officer in the performance of any duty imposed or powers conferred by this Act,

shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be liable to a fine of not less than ten thousand ringgit and not more than fifty thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term of not less than one year and not more than five years or to both.
(2)
An offence punishable under this section shall be a seizable offence and any police officer or road transport officer may seize and detain any motor vehicle or any thing for the purposes of proceedings under this Act.”.
