Section 20
Subsection 66(1) of the principal Act is amended—
of Road Transport (Amendment) Act 2026
(a)
in paragraph (o), by inserting after the words “to each such area,” the words “to regulate any matter relating to declared area,”;
(b)
by substituting for paragraph (ee) the following paragraph:
“(ee) to regulate the establishment of a driving school or driving institute, to issue permit for driving school or driving institute, to regulate the training of a driver of motor vehicle and to provide for the fees to be charged relating to it;”;
(c)
by substituting for paragraph (oo) the following paragraph:
“(oo) to regulate and prescribe—
(i)
the registration of any person who provides the technical verification of the construction, alteration, modification and repair of a motor vehicle;
(ii)
the registration of any person who performs the construction, alteration, modification and repair of a motor vehicle and its component;
(iii)
the procedure of any construction, alteration, modification, repair, assessment of damage and authentication of a motor vehicle and its component; and
(iv)
the fees to be charged relating to it;”;
(d)
in paragraph (pp), by inserting after the words
“new model of motor vehicle” the words “and its component”;
(e)
in paragraph (ss), by deleting the word “and” at the end of the paragraph;
(f)
in paragraph (tt), by substituting for the full stop at the end of the paragraph a semicolon; and
(g)
by inserting after paragraph (tt) the following paragraph:
“(uu) to regulate any matter relating to the safety of a motor vehicle and its component and to provide for the fees to be charged relating to it.”.
