Section 9
Subsection 17(1) of the principal Act is amended—
of Road Transport (Amendment) Act 2026
(a)
by substituting for paragraph (b) the following paragraph:
“(b) the identifying particulars of—
(i)
the motor vehicle, including the engine number and chassis number, remain clear, distinct and untampered and are identical with the corresponding particulars contained in such registration certificate; and
(ii)
the electric motor vehicle, including the electric motor vehicle serial number and chassis number, remain clear, distinct and untampered and are identical with the corresponding particulars contained in such registration certificate;”;
(b)
by inserting after paragraph (bb) the following paragraph:
“(bc) he is satisfied that the application for a motor vehicle licence is in accordance with the declared area in which the motor vehicle is located and to be used;”; and
(c)
in paragraph (d)—
(i)
by substituting for the words “Commercial
Vehicles Licensing Board Act 1987:” the words
“, the Land Public Transport Act 2010 or the
Commercial Vehicles Licensing Board Act 1987.”;
and
(ii)
by deleting the proviso.
